The people around Daniel were jealous of him, so they tried to find fault in him. But in Daniel 6.4 we read : “They could find no corruption in him because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.”
Trustworthy, not corrupted, not negligent. Are the people around you saying the same thing about you?
When we compare ourselves to Jesus, who was sinless, we always have the excuse : “but He was Jesus… The Son of God”. But He was also human, living on Earth, a detail we voluntarily skip to continue doing business as usual.
But Daniel… He wasn’t Jesus, but the Bible said he was flawless! He was faithful and wasn’t negligent.
How did Daniel manage that, living in a secular world? The answer is in verse 10 : “Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God…”
That is the secret. He was a busy man, in charge of a part of the kingdom, but he was taking the time to talk to God. Not once a day, but three times per day. The result : not only did it give him a flawless reputation, but it also saved him from the lions!
