This week we have a slightly different article. Let me talk to you from the bottom of my heart. If you are discouraged and have abandoned the idea of getting married, let me pray for you.
“I feel fine living alone,” a man told us when we asked him if he wanted to remarry. “If God sends me a wife, I’ll be happy, but I’m not going to run after it.” In short, this man has the desire to be in a relationship, he does not have the gift of celibacy, but he does not want to make the effort to find a partner. Sadly he is not the only one! There are so many singles who have accepted their state, who have abandoned the idea of getting married, for all sorts of reasons.
How sad! As head of Passion374, I have met several singles in this state and it breaks my heart every time. I believe that this sadness is also what God feels when He sees His children give up their dreams.
There is nothing wrong with staying single! Nobody is obliged to marry; God has indeed granted the gift of celibacy to a people, and we must respect this state with great reverence. But those who have received this gift are very few! The vast majority of single people have the desire to marry. If deep down you would like to be in a relationship, you do not have the gift of celibacy.
Many Christian singles have tried to find a partner. But their church is too small, they are too old (according to them!), they have children, they do not want to look desperate if they start looking for a partner, they do not trust dating agencies, their nose is too big, not enough hair, too much of this or not enough that… The list is infinite. So, they gave up on the idea, decided to focus only on the benefits of being alone and set up a small, comfortable routine.
They are right, in a way, to not complain about being single and to be satisfied in the state they are. This is what the Bible says: to be happy as we are (Philippians 4:11). But it is not because we are comfortable singles that we have to give up on our dream of getting married!
In fact, it is a recurring problem of numerous Christians, in all kinds of areas of their lives. They know the promises of God, but after some hardships, they give up. God had given them a verse to confirm the promise He had made to them, but they do not even remember this verse anymore. How sad! And above all, what an immense victory of the enemy!
It is time to get up and take back from the enemy everything that he stole us, and not let him win! Let us enter the promises that God has made to us! “Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: “How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you?”” (Joshua 18:3 NKJV) If obstacles arise: pray, fast, study and seek the solution that the Holy Spirit has for you. Be happy with your present life, but continue to desire all the promises of God. May the Glory of God be manifest and shine in all areas of your life! Never stop conquering!
I, Caroline, would like to take in my arms all those who were so hurt that they gave up, who let their dreams die inside. I wish my embrace could remove that pain and that this weight would be removed from their shoulders. My wish is to put light and hope in their hearts. I wish I could use a spiritual defibrillator to wake them up to the glorious life God has for them. I do not have that power, but I know someone who has it! And I pray, from the depths of my heart, that you receive this miraculous touch of the Holy Spirit today. “Oh God of resurrection, Spirit of life and truth, I pray now that the walls in my brother’s and my sister’s life will fall down. Let the chains that block their faith and their hopes break, by the power of the blood of Christ. I pray for a new dose of strength and determination in their life. I pray that the enemy has no victory in their life. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ! Amen!”
