We may feel that our prayers are not being heard when they are not answered the way we want them to be. Especially when we are single and still have no one in sight!
Have we ever felt like no one was listening to us? That everyone is distracted and going about their own business instead of listening to us? We feel very lonely then. If so, let’s take the time to remind ourselves that the Lord hears when we call Him. He has set His children apart and loves to listen to our prayers. Let’s not hesitate. Let’s go to Jesus today.
“But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him ”(Psalms 4:3 NKJV).
David had fellowship with the Lord. It all started when he was a very young boy playing the harp and watching over the sheep. He sang songs to the Lord and his heart was united with the Creator of the world. As he grew up, he learned to lean on the Lord when He was the only one David could lean on. David knew that God sees a faithful man regardless of the circumstances. It should give us all hope as we follow the Lord.
In these times when we feel alone and that no one understands us, let’s trust in the Lord. He sees us and knows the truth. People can spread lies and convince the masses, but all that matters is our righteousness before the Lord. Let us cry to the Lord, and He will listen to us. Let us seek His face and we will find Him. Let us not let doubt and discouragement invade us. Let us find our strength in Jesus.
If we feel estranged from God, let’s do a heart self-assessment. Is there an unrepentant sin? If so, let’s ask God for forgiveness. Are we in fellowship with other believers or are we isolated? If we are isolated, let’s re-engage with the Church. Are we edified by strong Bible teaching? Otherwise, we must listen to someone who teaches us the Bible with authority and depth. As we do these things, we will begin to feel more connected to Jesus.
