Then here are some questions to discuss:
What does the world (modern psychology) say about self-esteem?
What does God say about who we are?
How is knowing how God sees us good for our self-esteem?
We can know what God says but have trouble accepting or believing it. So how do we believe it, especially when we see the opposite?
Why is it important to have good self-esteem before entering into a relationship?
Some people have low self-esteem and see themselves as less than nothing. How can this hinder their search for a partner?
For other people, the opposite is true: they have a too high view of themselves! How can this harm future romantic relationships?
If you meet someone who has low self-esteem, what can you do to help them?
Having good self-esteem is important for our relationships, but is it also important for serving God? Why?
What are you going to do this week to assess and adjust your self-esteem?
Some verses to study:
Jude 1:20
1 Peter 2:9
Romans 12:3
John 3:16
Psalm 139:14
Some prayer points to conclude:
Pray to adjust our self-esteem to what God says about us.
Pray that God will correct us if we have too much pride.
Pray for your dream of marriage: that your future couples may make the Kingdom of God grow.
