Then here are some questions to discuss:
The vast majority of the projects we undertake come with their own set of challenges. The same goes for the search for our loved ones. Some challenges require us to fight, and others show us that we must break the relationship we are in. It is important to identify them properly in order to not break a relationship over nothing, or not to be in an unhealthy relationship. Nobody wants to waste time, right?
So, we’re going to go over different reasons people give for breaking up, and we’re going to discuss them. Do you think this is a good reason to break up? If yes, why? If not why?
When your partner highlights your flaws. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
When your “unsaved” loved one laughs at your relationship because of your Christian standards. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
When your partner loses their job. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
When your partner has to move, for a specific time, to another country. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
If you are too tempted by the call of the flesh, and think only of sex with this person. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
What if you and your partner don’t share the same faith and basic doctrines? Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
If your partner makes violent comments, or is violent towards you. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
If all of your family and friends think that you are not going well together. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
If your partner asks to keep your relationship a secret, and not tell anyone you’re together. Is this a reason to break up, or an acceptable challenge? Why? How to react?
What other challenges have you faced in the past? Were they a big challenge or a red flag for you? Ask the other participants in this study what they think about your challenges: do they also think it was a big challenge or a good reason to break up?
If today we’ve identified a reason why you broke up your old relationship, and you realize today that maybe you were a little too hard on your “ex”, talk to God, and maybe it is not too late to ask for forgiveness!
Some prayer points to conclude:
Pray for wisdom in our future relationships;
Accept to open our heart to God to transform us if we had made the wrong decisions;
… And of course, please pray for Passion374! Thank you!
