Then here are some questions to discuss:
Read Psalms 13:1 (NKJV)
1. Have you ever felt what David is expressing here? Under what circumstances? How did you manage to get out of this state?
Let’s do the exercise in the video. Close your eyes.See yourself in front of God. The One who created the universe with simply His Word. The One who knows your past and your future. Who knows exactly how you feel right now. Imagine looking straight into His loving eyes, take a deep breath, exhale, and tell Him sincerely: Yes, I trust you.
2. How do you feel after doing this? How does choosing to trust God create peace in you?
3. As a Christian, we know we should trust God. But what are non-Christians, or atheists, their source of security?
4. What is dangerous about basing our sense of security, in placing our trust in these sources?
Read Proverbs 28:26
5. What does it mean, in concrete terms, to trust in God?
6. Now, it is very difficult to trust someone that we do not know. How do you get to know God more?
Read 1 Corinthians 2:11
7. According to these two verses, how do we build our trust in God?
Read Isaiah 30:15
Read Philippians 3:4
8. We can apply this to all areas, but let’s talk about being single. What can we do to apply the previous 2 verses in this area?
9. In the next four verses, identify the signs that show you trust God. (Or the red flags that show us that if we don’t have this, we might have a problem with trusting God!)
Read Isaiah 25:9
Read Isaiah 40:31
Read Psalm 27:3
Read Job 11:18
Some prayer points to conclude:
Ask God for forgiveness for lacking trust sometimes.
And ask the Holy Spirit to help us in that.
