Then here are some questions to discuss:
Sometimes in our Sunday morning services, worship leaders encourage us to “come into the Presence of God.” What do they mean by that? Personally, how do you prepare your heart to enter the presence of God, and how do you know that you are finally in the presence of God?
Sometimes it is easier to feel the presence of God when we are in worship at our church. But can you feel the presence of God in your home? Share your tips for feeling connected to God.
Read John 4:13-14. When we have a personal encounter with Christ, we are a fountain flowing over others. How are you different when you have a good time with God? Are your interactions with others different after having a good time with God? How do you view your personal circumstances after having had a good time with God?
Read Hebrews 4:15. Jesus understands that our life is full of constraints and temptations. Do you feel guilty for not having time to stop to pray, if so why? How do you get out of that “guilty” state and feel accepted by Christ again?
It happens to everyone: a distraction happens and we skip our time with God. What distractions most often keep you from focusing on God? And how do you overcome these distractions?
Sometimes we are so tired of all our occupations that we can’t focus on God. It is easier to “take your mind off things” by watching television than to rest in the arms of our Savior. It is important to rest too: even Jesus found this important (see Mark 6:30-31). What do you do to rest and recharge your batteries?
Read Psalms 94:19. In the video, it is said that when we are not able to enter into the presence of God, we can make God enter our presence, and join us in our activities. What do you think of this idea? Is this something you already do? Or in what daily activity do you think you could try to include God more?
Why is it especially important for a single person not to neglect their time with God?
We are called to make the Kingdom of God grow, but to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, we must remain connected to the source. Based on everything we’ve discussed today, what are you going to change to stay glued to the heart of God? Or what will you keep doing so you don’t get distracted?
Some prayer points to conclude:
Ask God for forgiveness if we had neglected our relationship with Him a little;
Accept his forgiveness and ask for his help to include him in your activities;
… And of course, please pray for Passion374! Thank you!
