Then here are some questions to discuss:
There are many methods on all kinds of fields. “The 5 steps for success in business”, “The 4 keys to parental success”, “The 3 secrets to find your soul mate”, etc. Why do you think people are interested in those kinds of formula?
Is God OK with these types of programs? Is there a biblical basis for this kind of reasoning?
We often envy the successes of others and try to imitate what they have done to achieve the same results. But very often it doesn’t work for us. Why?
Knowing this, is it still worth following the advice of others? To try their methods?
Sometimes we are the ones who have had success in an area and we give our method to other people who think they can help them. Do you tend to give a lot of advice to others? How do you react when people don’t follow your advice or tell you that your method isn’t working for them?
Read James 1:5 and Isaiah 48:17. What can God teach us that the experiences of others cannot?
You, personally, what do you do to know the will of God when you have a question?
What has God told you personally about your singleness? If He hasn’t told you anything: have you ever spoken to Him about it?
The same goes for our calling: the part we personally have to play in the growth of the Kingdom of God. What has God asked you to do, you personally? And if you don’t know what to do, have you asked Him?
Do you think there is a connection between “finding your calling” and “meeting a partner”?
Some prayer points to conclude:
Ask the Holy Spirit for help to stop comparing ourselves
For him to help us hear His voice and the path that we must personally take
