Then here are some questions to discuss:
God hears everything we say to our coworkers. We can’t always talk about Jesus at work! But how can we honor God in the way we speak in our workplace? With our bosses or our employees?
Is it difficult to be different in our words or topics of conversation when we are in the workplace? Why and how to be different?
God reads everything we write on our social media. How can we honor God in our choice of social media posts?
Is it more difficult to restrain our words when we are behind a computer? Have you ever regretted writing or publishing certain things?
Read James 1:5-8. We pray for a victory and then speak defeatist words. How do you think negative words can sabotage our faith, or even prevent our prayers from being answered?
How can we present our needs to others, to ask for prayers, without using negative words? Does a Christian have the right to complain?
Read Matthew 12:36-37. God also hears all the vain words we speak. What do you think are “vain words”?
Read Proverbs 26:18-19. God is not against humour, but there are certain jokes that do not please God. Which ones do you think and why? How can we react to obscene or vulgar jokes without being the killjoy of the group?
Is “flirting” something acceptable in the eyes of God? If so, what do you think are the limits?
Read Luke 6:45. What does this verse teach you about the words that come out of your mouth?
Some prayer points to conclude:
Ask forgiveness for any negative or vain words we have said;
Ask for help from the Holy Spirit to help us watch our words;
… And of course, please pray for Passion374! Thank you!
