Then here are some questions to discuss:
The title of our discussion is “Know or be known”. So let’s start with the first part: “knowing God.” What is the difference between knowing things about God and knowing God? And how can we know God more?
Read 1 John 3:1. What does this verse teach you? What are you doing to make God known to those who don’t know Him?
Read Matthew 25:12. God knows all things, all the time, so how can He say in this verse, “I do not know you”? What do you think that means?
Read Psalm 116:2. God hears all things, so what does the psalmist mean when he says that God has inclined his ear to him? And what do you think we must do to have God “incline his ear” to our prayers?
To be known by God is to have a truly special connection with Him. How do you think this special connection develops?
Can we be “saved” but not “be known” by God? What are some of the fruits we can see in the life of a Christian who is “known by God”?
Is it easier for someone Single to develop this closeness with God, or a married person? And why?
For those who want to get married, is it necessary to seek a life partner who has this connection with God, or is the fact that this person knows God enough? What are the signs that show us that this person is “known by God”?
Is it possible to lose this connection with God; for Him to no longer “incline His ear” to us? And if so, what can break this connection with God? Is it difficult to repair?
Let’s go around the table and tell us what you will work on this week to be more “known by God.” What are some additional things you will do to draw closer to Him?
Some prayer points to conclude:
Let us pray for what we have just mentioned in question 10.
Let us ask the Holy Spirit to continue to draw us closer to the heart of God.
… And of course, please pray for Passion374! Thank you!
