Passion374 was created to help Christian singles live their single life well while solidifying their relationship with God. You may be single, but maybe you don’t have a real relationship with God. We want to help you as well because the best love story you can have is the one with God.
Being a Christian has nothing to do with religion. Jesus did not come to Earth to establish a new religion, He came to allow each person to have a personal relationship with God. Religions can not give us eternal life, they can not accompany us in all situations, at all times. Everything invented by men is limited. Some religions are good, they guide us in the right direction, but what really matters is having a personal relationship with God. Only Jesus can give us a relationship with God.
In John 1:12-13 it is written: “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” In this passage of the Bible, we see that we can “become” God’s children. So we do not start as children of God! We are all creatures of God, but we are not all His children. Not everyone has a closeness to Him.
There is a barrier between us and God, sin. Romans 3:23-24 says: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” There is no exception: all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God. Eternal life, healing, deliverance, divine provision… all of this is in God. But we can not access it because of the gulf that separates us, the gulf of sin.
This gap is so wide that nothing could allow us to cross it. But God loves us so much, and truly desires to be our Father, to take care of us, that He has found a way to reconcile us with Him. There is a bridge that can lead us to God, and this bridge is Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus, the Son of God, came in flesh and blood to live a perfect life here on Earth. He never sinned (1 Peter 2:22), so logically he should have eternal life and a constant relationship with God. Conversely, we, with our sins, were separated from God and eternal death awaited us. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24)
Now, Jesus agreed to die on the cross taking our sins on Him. He thus lived the perfect life, but he received our punishment. In doing this, He allowed us to exchange our heartbreaking result for His glorious life. When we choose to give our lost life to Christ, we enter His destiny. What He was entitled to receive, eternal life and closeness to God is now ours. If we accept to exchange our lives for His own, our destiny also changes. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14: 6) All we need to do to exchange our destinies, is to repent of our sins and to give Him our life by making Him our Lord. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10: 9)
If this is what you desire if you want a personal relationship with God, eternal life, you have only to pray something like this:
Today I recognize that I am a sinner and that I am separated from you, oh God. Forgive me of my sins. I accept the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. I declare that He is my Savior and now I want to exchange my life with his. I turn away from my sins and now I want to live for Him; I choose to make Jesus my Lord. Help me, Father. I thank you for Your grace. Amen!
If you have been sincere in your decision, you are officially a child of God. It’s as simple as that. You now have a personal relationship with God. Not only do you have eternal life, but you have His presence with you, by your side. Because when Jesus ascended to heaven, He did not leave His disciples alone. He gave them the Holy Spirit. Jesus says that the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, the One who teaches all things and gives us the strength to resist temptations. The Holy Spirit is with you, and He will lead you into all truth (John 16:13).
However, although the Holy Spirit is all you need to live the life of Christ on this Earth, we urge you to join a local Christian church to grow in the knowledge of our precious friend. No church is perfect, because they are all made up of imperfect members, but look for a church whose teachings are based on the Bible. Be faithful to an assembly that at least believes in salvation by grace, the Trinity, who will baptize you with water and has a form of accountability to its members and authorities. If you are having difficulty finding one, send us an email (info@passion374.com) and we will do our best to find you a good local church.
Seeking a life partner, or being happy while single, is good. However, developing a passionate relationship with God, through Jesus and with the Holy Spirit, there is nothing better than that. In fact, that’s the key to happiness!
