The beginning of a new year often comes with resolutions. We will lose a few kilos, pay our debts and find a… partner? We cannot force love, but we can take some steps to say goodbye to being single.
Married to give
Many single Christians say “I can’t wait to receive the husband (or wife) God has for me”. Others will encourage singles by saying: “He (she) is coming, God is preparing you a good one.” These are nice words, that look very spiritual, but aren’t they completely selfish?

When we are children turning 30 seems ancient, and girls especially, hope to be married before they hit their thirties. But is there really a perfect age at which to get married?
Marriage is not a goal
Having goals in life is a great thing and everyone should have goals. Goals are what give us direction in our lives. A hockey game with no net, so no one can score goals is rather boring. Life without a purpose is boring. But among all the goals that you could have, marriage is not one them.
